Argo Play Dough

Thanks to Argo, we know have an easy homemade play dough recipe that doesn't require cream of tarter. (because i never have that on hand O.o ) & its done in under 15 mn!

 You will need 1c or cornstarch. 2c of baking soda. a tsp of food coloring (your choice) &1 tbsp of oil as well as 1 1/4th cup of cold water

 Add baking soda & cornstarch dry and give a stir. Then add the oil and water

 turn stove on med. heat stir until all is mixed, then add your choice of colors (we chose purple)

 (looks gray :p) turn heat on high, and stir until it starts to boil

 Once boiling occurs the mixture will start to thicken. Continue stirring 

 until it is the consistency of dry mashed potatoes (to avoid over cooking)

 Place on plate 

 Cover with a cool wet cloth 

 Sprinkle cornstarch on table top and kneed the dough :)

Dog days of Summer

Feeling totally ripped of this winter! I mean we live in New England so i guess i should always expect the unexpected. However the lack of snow was a downer, and believe it or not, i'm dreaming about the dog days of summer! Cook outs, beach days, playdates at the park under 70 degree weather, sunrises and sunsets.

Meeting Juliana :)

Meeting Juliana for the first time was great. Me and Juliana's mom were pregnant at the same time. I gave birth to Luna July 11th, weighing in at 7lbs 1oz, upon informing Nicole on the birth of my bundle, she then informed me she was feeling like she was next! 48hrs later Juliana was born, at 7lbs 15oz :) Yes, this is there first time meeting, it's been a long awaited thing :p Both girls are 6 mo old, now weighing (Luna) 15.2lbs 27", and (Juliana) 19lb 27". Please enjoy the pix below of Luna & Juliana's first encounters :)

Circus Shifts of Co~sleeping

In my home our sleeping arrangement is far from typical. I'd like to call it the circus shifts of co-sleeping. For some, sleeping independently works, some co sleep and other side car there child's bed to there's so there babies/or children have there own space, yet feel safe and within arms reach of there parents. Well, were not rich and don't have a huge bed (only a queen), so if you want to co sleep and you have an acrobatic sleeper (2yr old) and a not so small (snoring) husband, and a nursling...i mean...lets be real here.....we'd need a wall to wall bed. Eventually were gong to squeeze in a full size bed next to the queen, but until then, let me explain to you the charades that takes place EVERY night.

My husband has a bed time. Yes, you heard correct, he has a set bedtime every night at 8:30 PM, set by Omri...or else!

because Evelyn and Omri go to bed at 8:30pm, and since for the last few mo. Omri no longer desires to be in her room with Evey. (also i believe she is use to our bed again because thats where she was when she was sick), we decided to put her toddler bed in our room, 'side car' style so she felt close, but had her own space.

WHAT? you didn't like that idea?....guess not. So every night (because she is in our bedroom alone) she says, "Pa, come lay with me i'm scared"

Lenny then goes to the room to 'lay' down with her. You'd be a fool to think she would be in her own bed & even more of a fool to think he'd ever return to the living room,.....willingly that is.

But Every night, after Luna passes out on my shoulder & i'm done on the computer/watching t.v, i go into the bedroom to wake him up. That's anywhere between 11pm and 3am. WHY?, because me and Luna need to get in bed, and since his snoring is a disturbance to the baby (and myself) i wake him, he rolls Omri to her bed, and  i send him to................................................

THE SOFA!!!!

Do i feel bad? yes! Is it comfy? no, probably not since hes been sleeping there for about a month now? O.o So until 2 things happen, (us getting a bigger bed & fixing his snoring). So technically were taking shifts co-sleeping with the 2 younger children. I'm in the middle of finding a new system, but until then...it is what it is :/

Playing with Pasta

I love snagging ideas offline that my girls are able to enjoy. This pasta trick was easy peasy, and pleasing to a preschooler. This project was simple enough for Evelyn to do herself, made her feel good that she got to 'cook' dinner and also that it was fun to eat.

 First cut hot dogs in quarters

 poke all chunks with un~cooked spaghetti 

 Once done, boil the pieces until spaghetti is cooked

Night Tub Club

 Quick and easy fun for a spin on bath time that i'm positive every kid will love !

 Just fill bath as usual and add in glo~sticks :)

 Even dad was able to join in the fun !!!!

Best Mess O.o

Technically this should be under *FUN WITH FOOD COLORING*, because it was another fun experiment with food coloring :) The original recipe called for 

3 tbs of sugar

1/2 tsp of salt

1/2 cup of corn starch

2 cups of water

Combine all ingredients in med. saucepan warm until mixture thickens. Cool & pour into containers. Add food coloring until you reach desired colors.

Well, i gave my girls two options. One being to use it as finger paints on paper, and two, put them in the tub with containers are just have a free for all. Guess what they chose?................................................................
